Updates have been made to The Old Orchard Property Owner’s Association’s Architecture & Landscape Review Board (ALRB) Guidelines
Individual Owner Private Well Water Testing There are two options available to test water from established, private wells:
1) Board of Health – Testing conducted by the Board of Health costs $100.00, and currently has a wait list of 6-8 months. Click this link for more information: https://www.suffolkcountyny.gov/Departments/Health-Services/Environmental-Quality/Water-Resources/Private-Well-Water-Testing-Program
2) Using a private company to collect the sample accelerates the process and costs more. Pricing is from $335 for a “comprehensive standardized potability test”, with incremental pricing for any additional tests (e.g. PFCs) requested by the owner. While the Association does not recommend or engage vendors on behalf of property owners, one private company option used by several owners is Harry Goldman 631.298.4640. Owners select the private company of their choice and schedule collection of a water sample.

Owner Yard Sales & Events:
Message from Larry Epstein, Association President, July 10:
At a recent yard sale in the neighborhood there was a great deal of dangerous congestion with cars blocking traffic and parking on neighboring properties. People were also milling about the road for several hours causing additional hazards.
Everyone will have parties or other events from time to time. To keep the disruption in the neighborhood to a minimum when these events or other entertainment is planned, it is requested that notice be given to your neighbors in advance. And further, it is important that plans are made by the sponsor for safe parking in neutral areas.
Everyone’s cooperation will be greatly appreciated and add to the safety and enjoyment of the neighborhood by all.
